I Julio Cesar Vasquez, artistic name JUCEVA started
my artistic career in 1974 since I was a kid in a
town called La Dorada (Caldas), in Colombia South
America at the age of 6 years when I started the elementary
school. The teacher set us to do drawings at the same
time we were learning how to read and write; at that
time I did several paintings and sketches around the
house I grew up.
My Talent was hidden all the time without nobody notice
it and no me either because anyway I always noticed
that some of my friends were better than me, so I
though that I didn’t have that called at all.
After I finished the high school I went to live in
Bogotá (Capital of Colombia) in the year 1987.
Over there I met my aunt who had been encouraged me
to be a painter since I was a kid and who is also
a painter. She told me to do a drawing for her of
a portrait taken from a picture, so I can keep developing
my hidden talent and when I finished it we noticed
my natural talent because my version was better than
the original. Off course the original source was just
a picture and my work was the result of the human
eye, crystal of the soul. More
